I see a reptilian aspect to this, the ability to shed and rejuvenate, perhaps to be born again when this hoped for change happens, or this waiting is over. It is patient like a reptile too, slow and deliberate.

i feel a quality of the 'watcher' or the 'witness' here...
or to use a more sensorial expression, pehaps her psycehe
has glimpsed a tip or a point...an infinitely delicate balancing

Right! It's already there. So waiting is'nt necessary. It's very Buddhist like but i've experienced that importent things in live are already there or will reveal when the time is ready for you. In both cases Waiting plays an important role; The absence or presence of it.
It's an difficult item. Maybe one can say: "to wait or not to wait"
